derekdgl says:Hi All I have accumulated 3000 photo on hard drives nad backup drives.I am an amateur photographer. And I read lately about having a yes no maybe folder of photos you have taken recently. This is something I should have done My question is how do I trim down my photos at this point.I have cr2 files etc converted for lightroom etc.Is it worth using duplicate photo finder or do I have to trawl through the photos bit by bit. |
ogmw093 says: I had the same issue I used a program Native compare and synchronize 2020. I do not change the name of the photos from my camera I down them so if the camera names the file 308A7955.cr2 then that is the way I save it as a raw file. I just add it to a folder that I have named in this case 2021-04-27 macro shots. I then back them up use a Raid set up. I import the ones I want to work on into Lightroom as DNG same name. This program will give you a comparison of files with the same name, date. What I found is some the files had the same first syntax so you have to be careful not to discard a file you may want to keep. Which I did but i just reclaimed those from the trash. I went from about 10,000 to about 6000 files in lightroom. www.nativeroom.com/ncs/index.html Hope this helps. |
