At which point did you stop being gear obsessed?

At which point did you stop being gear obsessed?

It’s a nice feeling, knowing I have everything I need. After one year of saving money and chasing gear, now I have a peace of mind.

My old second hand camera and four consumer class lenses are more capable than my photography skills. Now I can really learn and enjoy my hobby without worrying about technical limitations.

Also it can take a while to get to know all the equipment and accessories to make the most of it.

I could never afford the gear so although I wanted certain things they were out of reach. Then I got into Getty when it was all the rage here on Flickr. I made enough to get the gear that I desired or as you say obsessed with. Since I’m a frugal person it was ‘in my mind’ I bought gear that I thought was needed. Well Getty kinda went away and so did my gear money flow. So, years later I have only bought 1 vintage lens. My obsession is geared around the money. I guess I’m over it now since everything seems to cost a mortgage payment
