Reply to Windows 10 file explorer and CR2 files

Since the last Windows 10 update (around 7 June 2021) file explorer has been very slow generating thumbnails in folders containing CR2 files and the ‘Photos’ app no longer has the ‘right’ and ‘left’ arrows to step through images.
Folders only containing .JPGs seem fine.
Anyone else seeing this?
