Cosina has announced it will be releasing its new Nokton 50mm F1 VM mount lens in January 2022. This lens will be the fastest full-frame interchangeable Voigtländer lens Cosina has ever produced.
The lens is constructed of nine elements in seven groups, including a ground aspherical surface and another aspherical element. It uses a 12-blade aperture diaphragm, has a minimum focusing distance of 90cm (35.5â€) and uses a 62mm front filter thread.

The manual focus mechanism uses an all-metal helicoid design that Cosina says is made with a ‘high-quality grease that produces appropriate torque, focusing with a smooth operation.’ The lens features a rangefinder interlocking mechanism when paired with a Leica M mount rangefinder, but also works as an adapted lens on modern mirrorless camera systems. It also comes with an included reversible lens hood.

Despite its ultra-fast F1 aperture, the lens measures only 73.6mm (2.9â€) in diameter, 55mm (2.2â€) long and weighs just 484g (16oz). The lens is expected to ship in January 2022 for an MSRP of Â¥ 225,000 / ~$1,980.

Started out doing photography at the age of 6 using an uncle's old 1940 kodak brownie box camera. At 15 years of age, I decided to buy my very own 1975 Praktica SLR camera. I now shoot with a Nikon D850. I do unpaid TFP and commercial paid work.
