The NX1 is $1.5k body only. Once you add the obligatory 16-50 f/2-2.8, you’ve already spent $2.7K. Add the 50-150 f/2.8 to complete your lens kit and you’ve burned more than 4,000 dollars… But then again, IMHO it’s totally worth it, and that’s why I went for it, after carefully evaluating all the competitors.
The NX500, which would save you $750 on the body-(nice) lens combo but at the cost of serious compromises, however, is not. Frankly, I don’t think the NX500+16-50 f/2-2.8 is worth $2K. Let alone the body + 2-zoom kit for $3.5K. IMHO if you can live with the NX500’s serious compromises, you might as well get a Panasonic FZ1000, which now you can find for just slightly more than $700. Lens included, of course.

Started out doing photography at the age of 6 using an uncle's old 1940 kodak brownie box camera. At 15 years of age, I decided to buy my very own 1975 Praktica SLR camera. I now shoot with a Nikon D850. I do unpaid TFP and commercial paid work.
