Back on June 1st, 2015, landscape photographer Nicolaus Wegner was on the scene as a massive supercell formed over the Black Hills of South Dakota near Rapid City. As the stationary storm unfolded over several hours before Wegners eyes, he shot photos at one-second intervals with his Canon 5D Mark II and wide angle lenses. Afterward, he combined the photos into the 2-minute time-lapse short seen above, titled Art of the Storm.
It was truly one of the most beautiful natural weather phenomenon I have ever witnessed, Wegner says.

Started out doing photography at the age of 6 using an uncle's old 1940 kodak brownie box camera. At 15 years of age, I decided to buy my very own 1975 Praktica SLR camera. I now shoot with a Nikon D850. I do unpaid TFP and commercial paid work.
