Detail in the landscape shots shot with the Batis and 70-200 is excellent, edge to edge. Yes there’s a bit more noise than I might have expected but so much depends on the exposure and processing it’s unfair to make any judgments as yet. Strange that there are different interpretations of the images. To me – detail and tonal range seems improved at base ISO (200) over EM5-II. It falls somewhere between the EM5-II and A6000. Both RAW and JPEG. At higher ISOs, i.e. 1600, the GX8 does show more color noise than the E-M5II, slightly, but with still greater detail. I always find Fuji to lack detail, both RAW and JPEG, in every single comparison, including this one. Yes it’s got clean images, up the ISO scale, but show less detail and tonal range. Anyway, to me, the sensor while improved is not a huge improvement at...

I’m curious just how big the market is for people to buy a $1000 a7 and then a whole bunch of $1000+ lenses. There’s the kit zoom and used/grey marketZony f4 standard zoom, the 28 mm + adapters, the slow (and tiny) 35 mm f2.8, and then used/grey market 55. That’s it for less than $1000 lenses. It does matter. I have owned more bodies than most people on this form : Olympus, Sony, Panasonic, canon, Nikon, and Fuji to name a few. They all have a certain look, a certain way of rendering and even in post not two are really alike.
