I liked best his answer that Olympus is an optics manufacturer that also makes cameras. I’m still using the two kit lenses that came with the E-xxx series, both on a DLSR and adapted to m43. They are better than any other kit lens I’ve seen from any manufacturer. I own a couple of Olympus high grade lenses too, which are fantastic.
I think Olympus is on the right track with mirrorless. I’ve been reading that Canikon DSLRs and lenses are not too big these days, you know, the usual forum comments, and I had a chance to handle the entry and mid-level offerings from both manufacturers at Best Buy the other day, while waiting for my wife. In my opinion, these camera and lens combinations are HUGE compared to m43, and I was handling kit lenses without a lot of glass! I shoot a G6, a “big” m43 camera, and it is miniscule with a kit lens compared to those DSLRs. These days, people don’t want to carry any camera at all in addition to their smart phone. I don’t see a future for huge cameras.

Started out doing photography at the age of 6 using an uncle's old 1940 kodak brownie box camera. At 15 years of age, I decided to buy my very own 1975 Praktica SLR camera. I now shoot with a Nikon D850. I do unpaid TFP and commercial paid work.
