Panasonic has given its DC-S1 and DC-S1H full-frame mirrorless cameras some big improvements via recent firmware updates. For example, the S1 now shares many video features with the S1H, including 6K Raw recording. Chris and Jordan take a look at what’s been added and how the two cameras compare in 2021.

AtomOS version 10.52 adds the ability to record 12-bit ProRes Raw video over HDMI at up to 5.9K/29.97p in full-frame, or 4K/59.94p in Super35.
Panasonic has released the promised firmware update that adds Raw video output to the S1H. The update allows the camera to output 5.9K/29.97p and Super 35 format 4K/59.94p Raw video to Atomos Ninja V recorders. Support for 3.5K anamorphic capture is also included in the update.
