It does matter. I have owned more bodies than most people on this form : Olympus, Sony, Panasonic, canon, Nikon, and Fuji to name a few. They all have a certain look, a certain way of rendering and even in post not two are really alike. Also as in camera processors continue to get better, the need for RAW will become less of a necessity for most people.
