Accessories manufacturer Manfrotto has announced a new series of consumer LED lights that offer portable continuous output for stills and video photographers from lightweight and compact housings. The Lumie Art, Play and Muse lights are powered by a USB rechargeable Lithium-ion battery that is said to deliver over an hour’s worth of continuous lighting. While the Art and Play models come with a hotshoe adapter and a tripod mount, the Muse additionally has a ball and socket head that makes angling the light easy.
The three units differ in power, with the Play’s three LED bulbs producing a 220lux output, the Art’s six bulbs providing 440lux and the eight bulbs of the Muse creating 550lux of illumination. The Play and Art have three output settings, and Muse users have a choice of four. Each of the lights has a color temperature of 5600 K and Manfrotto says the light has a Color Rendition Index (CRI) of >92%.
The lights are compatible with a collection of filters that can either control the color or characteristics of the light, which are packaged in kits according to the effects needed. The filters have a clip-on fitting and can be stacked in layers of up to three, and include a wide range of colours and three strengths of diffuser.
The Lumie Play will be £44.95, the Art will be £69.95 and the Muse £99.95, while the additional filter kits are £12.95. For more information visit the Lumie pages of the Manfrotto website.

Started out doing photography at the age of 6 using an uncle's old 1940 kodak brownie box camera. At 15 years of age, I decided to buy my very own 1975 Praktica SLR camera. I now shoot with a Nikon D850. I do unpaid TFP and commercial paid work.
