A Set of Brown Tone Images

A Post By: Darlene Hildebrandt The time of year is upon us when things turn brown up here in northern part of the world. Leaves turn yellow and then brown. Grass changes from green to beige as nature prepares for winter. You may consider brown a boring color and one that isn’t very photogenic or interesting. But there is a lot of nuance and varying tones in browns. Let’s see what’s possible. Set of brown tone images: On the top of the world by aranka delina janné on 500px Boxing Bear by Olav Thokle on 500px House of Furballs by Alex...

Richard Franiec offers Canon PowerShot G7 X custom grip

Posted by on 1st, Nov, 2014 in Blog | 0 comments

You’re right. These things should have been designed right onto the camera by the manufacturer. If they did that, then they would add less than a dollar to the total cost of the camera. But since they didn’t, your only option left is to buy a tack on grip. And none of them are cheap, and the ones made by Franiec seem to be the best ones made. I will never understand why manufacturers omit a usable grip on small cameras. It would cost them almost nothing to do, and it would help give them a competitive advantage over other models...

Atomos Power Station Uses Camera Batteries and Offers Hot Swapping

Camera accessory maker Atomos has just announced Power Station, its new piece of equipment that turns your extra batteries into a clever power pack that’s capable of powering up to three devices while out in the field. Looking akin to a matte black brick, this device, which sits between your camera and your tripod, is a rather literal power brick that you can use to power LED lights, external monitors, external recorders and even your DSLR itself. It has two DC power outputs and two USB ports. The device utilizes two interchangeable...

Psyphotology: A Look at Why People Are Afraid to Be In Front of a Camera, and How to Fix That

Well known headshot photographer Peter Hurley has teamed up with respected psychologist Anna Rowley to develop a way for people to overcome their fear of being in front of a camera. The pair call this research and application Psyphotology, a clever wordplay on psychology and photography. Their hope is to impact the world by helping us gain self-acceptance rather than focusing on criticism. Hurley and Rowley met while working on an assignment for Microsoft. After meeting and better getting to know one another, they realized their mutual...

Posted by on 31st, Oct, 2014 in Blog | 0 comments

Everyone has fears, even the most successful photographers in the business. The key to overcoming those fears is to manage them rather than spending time and mental energy dwelling on them. The responses speak for themselves, with almost every photographer saying that one needs to ‘hustle’ and ‘take risks’ to succeed. (via Fstoppers) Source Article from...

4 Reasons to Capture Images of You and Your Child Together Right Now

A Post By: Melinda Smith 1. You Need to Document That You Were There I get it, I do. You’re the one behind the camera. You’re the one taking the photo of that adorable little smile. You’re the one documenting that you spent a day at the park together. Someone’s got to do it, right? Sometimes you have to get on the other side of the camera, and let someone else be the photographer for a minute. Even if you weren’t planning on being in photos that day, just do it. It doesn’t matter if your hair is perfect. It doesn’t matter if you...
