How To Profit From Selling Digital Products (Part 1)

How To Profit From Selling Digital Products (Part 1) By Nathan Barry July 10th, 2014 BusinessProduct Strategy 0 Comments At the end of 2012, I was talking with a good friend of mine who runs a small custom woodworking company. We were discussing business over the last year and a few things we learned. While his business did about double the revenue that mine did in 2012, I made considerably more profit. That’s when it sank in how unusual my business really is: Instead of having a 10 to 20% profit margin like many businesses, I had an 85%...

Preview of the Slide and Clutch Camera Carrying System from Peak Design

A Post By: Sime With Peak Design launching another set of products via Kickstarter, we’re very fortunate to get our hands on the new, as yet unreleased, Slide and Clutch camera carrying system prior to launch for a little dPS preview! You can see the Kickstarter here and pre-order if that’s your thing! As a Peak Design pro, I’ve been using “Capture” since it was released along with Leash and Cuff. The video below of Pete and Adam will give you a great idea of what the team at Peak Design are doing with this new gear and why...

Photography Trip of a Lifetime to the Canadian Rockies for Your Bucket List

A Post By: Alex Morrison With thousands of awe-inspiring and exotic places in the world, you have no shortage of places to visit and photograph. If you’re like me and have a bucket list of adventures you just have to shoot before you hang up your camera, allow me to add one more trip to your inventory.  This excursion not only includes heart-pounding scenery, but also what is probably the most expensive piece of photographic equipment you’ll ever get the chance to use – all for the price of “admission”. Photographers waiting for...

Quick Review: That Steady Thing

That Steady Thing£36 / ~$62* www.infraredlandscapes.webs.com * International shipping from £13 (~$23) The simple idea that tripods are inconvenient to carry for extended periods has given birth to a host of attempts to find an easier way to steady a camera during a long exposure. We’ve seen string-based contraptions that create tension between the camera and the photographer’s foot to create stability, monopods that sprout legs from their lower extension, beanbags and window/tree/fence clamps – and...

Behind the Scenes with USAF Thunderbirds Official Photographer

Fascinating insight in a different assignment! Jealous? You bet. I only had two shooting flights in a Swedish Mach 2+ fighter… As a videographer, producer and editor, I have to say that I really hate those profile cutaways of Sgt Reid, though. The editor completely spoils the flow, IMHO, in an effort at strained showmanship. Otherwise a great video! Source Article from...

Camera Review: Samsung Galaxy S5

Connect smartphone reviews are written with the needs of photographers in mind. We focus on camera features, performance and image quality. The S5 is the latest model in Samsung’s line of Galaxy S flagship smartphones and replaces last year’s Galaxy S4. The new model’s camera comes with a slightly larger 1/2.6-inch CMOS BSI sensor and an increased pixel-count of 16MP (up from the S4’s 13MP) but the maximum aperture remains unchanged at F2.2. Like its phablet sibling the Galaxy Note III, the S5 offers 4K video...

Olympus takes Pen E-PL6 beyond Asia

The Olympus Pen E-PL6, first announced in 2013 for the Asian market, is set to be introduced to the UK kitted with a pancake-style zoom lens a Wi-Fi memory card. The M.Zuiko Digital ED 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 EZ zoom lens is a pancake design, which Olympus claims is the slimmest of its type in this class. The 16.1 megapixel camera uses the same Live MOS sensor and TruePic VI processor as the 2012 PEN E-PL5 it replaces. It will retail in the UK for £429.99 from mid-July. Presumably as a substitute for built-in Wi-Fi, the...
