Throughout the 17-minute video, Dolby takes a step-by-step approach to show how each change he makes to the scene has an effect on the image captured. This, in combination with his articulate narration, makes for an easy-to-follow tutorial. A behind-the-scenes shot showing the setup used to capture the final image. Hands-on with the Sigma 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG DN OS Sport

The new Sony ZV-E10 is seemingly a vlogger’s dream. It shoots uncropped 4K/24p video, offers headphone and microphone ports, a touch-sensitive selfie screen, class-leading AF and a darn good onboard mic. Unfortunately, jiggly 4K and subpar Full HD footage detract from its appeal.

Apple is testing out new flare removal feature in iOS 15 beta

In its latest iOS 15 developer beta, Apple has added a new feature that automatically removes the signature ‘green orb’ lens flare sometimes seen in photographs captured on iPhone camera systems. As reported by Reddit user Doubleluckstur in the iOSBeta subreddit, iOS 15 Beta 4 will remove lens flares using some kind of software trickery. ‘Whilst out and about I took this photo and thought it was ruined / needing to be edited later due to the lens flare,’ said Doubleluckstur. ‘However, I got home and noticed the lens flare has...

Apple has added a trio of new AMD graphics cards to configurable options for its flagship desktop computer, the Mac Pro. The Radeon Pro W6800X has 32GB of GDDR6 memory, as does the more powerful W6900X. The Radeon Pro W6800X Duo has 64GB of GDDR6 memory, which makes sense given that it’s a pair of W6800X cards. My New Favorite Method to Capture More Dynamic Range

A technique I recently learned allows you to capture lots of dynamic range in photography with better results and fewer downsides than traditional HDRs. I call it “AHDR” for “Averaged High Dynamic Range” photography. AHDR isn’t a popular technique at the moment, but I’ll make a case in this article for why I think should be. Compared to traditional HDR methods, it gives similarly good results but works much better when anything in your photo is moving. It’s also just as easy and fast to capture as a normal HDR (actually a lot...

H&Y Filters announces Revoring Black Mist filter that fits almost any lens without step-up rings

H&Y Filters has announced the launch of a new series of Black Mist filters that aim to solve the issue of step-up rings and adapters. The H&Y Revoring series launched last year with a VND + CPL combination filter and has now been expanded with the Black Mist filter. What separates H&Y’s filters from traditional filters is that the Revoring offers a variable diameter with self-retracting blades, allowing you to use it on lenses with different filter sizes without needing to use step-up rings. The Revoring has an aperture-like...

Choose your own adventure with Techart’s E-mount to Z-mount adapter

Thanks to Techart, everything you see here plays pretty well together. Back in the summer of 2019, Techart released the TZE-01 adapter – an impressively thin metal ring that makes possible some previously unseen lens-camera combinations. It does this by way of an integrated circuit board that, with the aid of some reverse-engineering on Techart’s part, allows for a vast number of Sony lenses to function fully on compatible Nikon Z-mount camera bodies. The Razer Blade 15 Advanced is a powerful photo and video editing machine with a premium design and a premium price tag to match. All product photography by DL Cade. Razer products – with their glowing green snake logo and RGB accents – are synonymous with gaming, but unlike many gaming-focused companies, Razer puts just as much emphasis on the build quality and design of their products as the gamer-y tweaks and high-end hardware. 50 years later: A look back at NASA’s incredible first Lunar Rover

50 years ago this week, the Apollo 15 spacecraft launched from Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The Apollo 15 mission is significant for numerous reasons. It was the ninth crewed Apollo mission, the fourth to land on the Moon, and perhaps most importantly, the first to use the lunar roving vehicle (LRV). While rovers seem commonplace today, it was a stunning achievement for NASA in 1971. To celebrate Apollo’s first LRV, we wanted to share a collection of images highlighting the development, deployment and use of NASA’s famous...
