I like the color rendition, like the one of my XZ-2, but definitely not better than most 1/1.7″ from other manufacturers as said below. My old 7MP 1/2.3″ sensor PowerShot A720 IS takes sharper pictures than this camera. I downsized picture ISO125-P6050380 to 7MP to compare with the A710, then to 2MP to be seen on an HD TV screen but picture still shows lack of sharpness…
