Thematic:

“Panasonic have been very upfront that their picture quality will lag far behind Sony.”

Where has Panasonic said this?

Until Sony released full framed mirrorless cameras, in very late 2013, Sony had notoriously bad lenses for their mirrorless system cameras. (Though yes there were better after market lenses by by the likes of Zeiss and Sigma.)

Sony mirrorless cameras, including the full framed variety, still have washed out raws.

While at lower ISOs, Panasonics have excellent image quality and have access to many very good and some more extraordinary system lenses, plus some at least very good Oly lenses.

I have no comment on this particular Panasonic’s image quality for three reasons: I’ve not used it, I don’t have raws and they wouldn’t open with ACR anyhow, and these samples were shot with a kitzoom.

It is preposterous to claim that Panasonic mirrorless lag far behind Sony mirrorless for any thing but high ISOs. And Panasonic has a much better record with lenses.
