Peak Design, maker of the Slide and Clutch and other camera gear, has launched its newest bag on Kickstarter. Called’The Everyday Messenger’, this bag features anadaptable design able to tote around one’s everyday gear, includingphotography equipment.

The messenger bag is designed to expand when full, and features three dividers that expand and contract as needed. The Everyday Messenger bag is able to growfrom a 13.5L capacity up to a 20.5L capacity, and uses a semi-rigid shell to prevent unwanted slack. Four latcheson the front of the bagaccommodate the variousstorage capacities, and are coupled with a magnetic latch on the bag’s flap that can be opened and closed with a single hand. In addition to the magnetic latch, the bag’s flap features a zipper for quick access to the main compartment and mesh outer pockets.

The main shoulder strap is made of seatbelt webbing and is internally padded; a secondary removable stabilizer strap is available that reduces the amount of weight on the user’s shoulder.Peak Design’s Capture camera clip can be connected to the outside of the bag, as well, via a dedicated attachment point. Other features include an exterior waxed synthetic canvas that repels water, soft internal padding, anodized aluminum components, and fold-over flaps for the internal dividers.

Peak Design is funding production of the bag on Kickstarter, where to date it has sailed pastits $100,000 goal to over $715,000. Apledge of $195 is required to get a single bag in either Heritage Tan or Charcoal, which is $55 USD off the expected retail price. Global shipping to backers is estimated to begin in December 2015.
