Jack Simon has worked as a psychiatrist for four decades. Ten years ago, he began a personal journey in photography, and these days he rarely goes anywhere without a camera by his side.
Simons street photographs reflect a curious mind and a sharp eye. I enjoy the hunt for that moment of mystery, surprise, and humor in my everyday life, Simon writes. I seek unplanned and unposed images that hint to a larger story, like a publicity still from some forgotten movie.
These fragments of fictional stories are drawn from the real world in an odd coupling of my unconscious, my intentions, and chance.
He was recently interviewed by Seeker Stories about his approach to street photography:

Started out doing photography at the age of 6 using an uncle's old 1940 kodak brownie box camera. At 15 years of age, I decided to buy my very own 1975 Praktica SLR camera. I now shoot with a Nikon D850. I do unpaid TFP and commercial paid work.
