I like part of your story about “runnning away” from what you didnt like to do or from what others wanted you to do. Sort of what the lyric said… That song is Playing in my head right now 🙂
For me, every time i go outdoors and photograph landscapes and wildlife, my lyric says: i wish i can spend the whole day, every day doing this.

Started out doing photography at the age of 6 using an uncle's old 1940 kodak brownie box camera. At 15 years of age, I decided to buy my very own 1975 Praktica SLR camera. I now shoot with a Nikon D850. I do unpaid TFP and commercial paid work.
