You’re right. These things should have been designed right onto the camera by the manufacturer. If they did that, then they would add less than a dollar to the total cost of the camera.
But since they didn’t, your only option left is to buy a tack on grip. And none of them are cheap, and the ones made by Franiec seem to be the best ones made.
I will never understand why manufacturers omit a usable grip on small cameras. It would cost them almost nothing to do, and it would help give them a competitive advantage over other models that are slippery.
