PM notification seems useful, but I’d like to be able to turn all forums and comment notifications off permanently. They’re just a bit of visual clutter to me, and having to manually turn them off for threads I’ve posted in, one thread at a time when a notification for that thread appears, is too much hassle.
Fine-tuning it, I suppose if you had the option to only get notifications for “subscribed” threads, plus a choice of whether you auto-subscribed when you posted in a thread or not and option to subscribe to an individual thread whether you had posted in it or not, that would cover everything. People who want it like it is could just automatically subscribe to any thread they posted in, and people who just wanted notifications about particular threads could subscribe to those, with the extra benefit that you could get notifications for a discussion you were following without having to post there.
Started out doing photography at the age of 6 using an uncle's old 1940 kodak brownie box camera. At 15 years of age, I decided to buy my very own 1975 Praktica SLR camera. I now shoot with a Nikon D850. I do unpaid TFP and commercial paid work.
