Slideshow: Finalists for the Animal Friends Comedy Pet Photo Awards 2021
Today, 40 photo and three video finalists were announced for the Animal Friends Comedy Pet Photo Awards, 2021. Over 2000 entries were submitted from around the world. Created by Paul Joyson-Hicks and Tom Sullam, the competition was created to celebrate the vital role pets play in our lives. A partnership with Animals Friends Insurance will allow the organizers to donate £10,000 to Animal Support Angels.
‘It has been a very odd 24 months for most of us, but one heartwarming life-affirming and consistent presence has kept many of us relatively sane and definitely happier than we might have been: our pet (or pets!),’ says Sullam.
The Category and Overall winners will be announced in November. The photographer with the top image will receive a £2,000 cash prize. The entire gallery can be viewed on the Pet Photo Awards’ website.
Started out doing photography at the age of 6 using an uncle's old 1940 kodak brownie box camera. At 15 years of age, I decided to buy my very own 1975 Praktica SLR camera. I now shoot with a Nikon D850. I do unpaid TFP and commercial paid work.
