The new studio samples are pretty bad, particularly WRT JPEG detail smearing. It produces significantly worse JPG’s at even base ISO than either the Canon G1X2 or the Pana GM1.
Some examples:
1, JPEG low-contrast detail smearing at base ISO:
a, vs. Canon G1X MkII :
b, vs. Pana GM1:
The other two cameras produce significantly less-smeared, better results.
2, RAW detail retention at base ISO (text readability):
a, vs. Canon G1X MkII :
b, vs. Pana GM1:
Despite the significantly lower-res sensor, the text on the G1X’s shot is equally readable than that of the Sony. The 16 Mpixel GM1 (which is, still, of lower nominal res than the Sony), on the other hand, produces _significantly_ more readable text.
I think I’ll go straight for the GM1 + 12-32 combo.

Started out doing photography at the age of 6 using an uncle's old 1940 kodak brownie box camera. At 15 years of age, I decided to buy my very own 1975 Praktica SLR camera. I now shoot with a Nikon D850. I do unpaid TFP and commercial paid work.
