The NiSi 15mm F4 ‘Sunstar’ is an all-manual ultra-wide prime lens for Canon RF, Fujifilm X, Nikon Z and Sony E mount cameras. While NiSi has been known as a filter manufacturer for quite some time; the 15mm F4 is the first lens the company has released, and it looks to be a good one.
Our gallery shows that this lens is capable of outstanding sharpness across the frame, and exhibits little in the way of distortion or unwanted aberrations. It’s fairly resistant to flare, and produces its namesake 10-pointed sunstars.
Handling-wise, it conveys a feel of real quality. The lens is all metal, as is the hood. The focus ring has a fairly short throw (that’s just fine on an ultra-wide) and is nicely damped. The aperture ring has slight detents at full stops, but moves smoothly between them.
Check out our gallery to see for yourself what this lens can do. It’s available right now at $579 USD at NiSi’s online shop and other select retailers.

Started out doing photography at the age of 6 using an uncle's old 1940 kodak brownie box camera. At 15 years of age, I decided to buy my very own 1975 Praktica SLR camera. I now shoot with a Nikon D850. I do unpaid TFP and commercial paid work.
