read moreA Post By: Kav Dadfar The one thing that I always wish for on any trip is more time, but I also think that no matter how long I have somewhere I will always wish I had an extra day, week or month. As a photographer, you will rarely have the luxury of time, whether you are on an assignment or a personal trip. The reality is that there are so many things to photograph, in so many different way,s that you could spend a lifetime just photographing one city and get vastly different results every day. So making the most of your limited time is...
read moreA Post By: Barry J Brady Try to make your HDR images look as realistic as possible If you have been photographing for more than a year or two, you will have heard about HDR (which stands for High Dynamic Range). We have probably seen them, the “overcookedâ€, over processed HDR images that float around the photo websites. For some photographers, the process seems to force them to overdo their images and after a while that seems to be the only result they are trying to achieve. Do a Google search on “bad HDR†and you will see what I...
read moreI always thought cave photography was such hard work, being a caver for a few years myself. There is dust, mud, condensation, the technical difficulties of the cave itself & reliance on the other cavers to have as much patience as yourself etc etc BUT when you achieve end results like this, it must just keep you going. It makes above ground photography seem a piece of cake.Absolutely superb … thank you for the article. Can you believe it! So, I ran into the house to get some tinsel, glue, and my bokiest lens, and I came back, glued that F’er down and made art! Next week, I’m going to catch me a squirrel and super glue a walnut in it’s mouth for a formal portrait.” Source Article from...

As explained in part 1 of this series, the first two steps are to structure content in a way that naturally narrows the navigation options, and to explain those options in a way that minimizes the cognitive load on users. However, two more steps are required — namely, to choose the right type of navigation menu, and then to design...

read moreMore than just a few, unfortunately. He way overdid it. He made it all about the round circles in the bokeh. It’s like he’s showing off how he can do this, rather than making beautiful images. There are nice colors in many of them, but the overdone bokeh is just distracting. The circles aren’t placed perfectly enough to add to the subject, so instead they take over the whole image. It would be better if he toned them down in PP, rather than accentuating them. read moreI hope they take retail seriously because even when they took over the Penn Camera where I was, nothing changed. It was the same terrible customer service and without that warm greeting. Companies are surprised that they do bad and business closes down. A huge part of it is pure first line greeting and customer service. Online has a huge advantage because it’s the same thing as shopping by yourself in a real store. This is just my perspective with my one particular store, and even if it doesn’t represent the whole it’s still...
