Canon has officially announced a pair of new lenses. The first is an EF 16-35mm F4L IS USM lens, which is a cheaper version of the existing F2.8L model. The IS system offers 4 stops of shake reduction according to CIPA standards, and features a nine-blade circular aperture. For cameras that support EF-S lenses, there’s also a new 10-18mm F4.5-5.6 IS STM model, which is equivalent to 16-29mm on APS-C bodies. The 10-18mm is both smaller and lighter than the existing 10-22mm lens, and its stepping motor allows for fast and silent focusing...

The camera comes with an F2.2 fisheye lens with a 180-degree field of view and a 14MP sensor. No information on sensor size has been given yet. It also appears the Bebop uses a system similar to the electronic video stabilization we’ve seen in some recent smartphones. It captures a larger image than it needs, crops it, and uses the...

read morei think it’s more filling out a full “consumer grade” zoom lens lineup and the prosumer f/4.0 line. what’s still missing from canon now though is a consumer grade FF lens lineup and a prosumer EF-S lineup – For FF, the 28-135 is pretty old in the tooth and the 17-55 EF-S stands alone with maybe the 10-22mm for EF-S. One could argue that with 17-40/4 and 24-105/4 selling so cheaply that is currently canon’s intention and why they will probably will still sell those lenses. however, three full lines –...

Over the last four years (yeah, it’s been about four years), we’ve seen many permutations of images in responsive design. From the lazier days of setting max-width: 100% (the absolute minimum you should be doing) to more full-featured JavaScript implementations, such as Picturefill...

There is finally some action that may get the attention of MLSs around the US. Last week A class action lawsuit was filed against CoreLogic. See the Complaint here. Most are not familiar with the name CoreLogic, I wasn’t, but the company claims to have as clients 17 of the 20 top MLS organizations in the US.  CoreLogic is the dominant technology and software provider to MLS...
read moreA Post By: Andrew S. Gibson In earlier articles I gave you advice about planning a portrait shoot and some reasons for using natural light. Now it’s time to take a look at something that many photographers find difficult – posing. The reason posing can create problems is because inexperienced models will look to you for direction. If your model is waiting for you to tell her what to do and you freeze up or don’t have any decent ideas you will struggle to create good photos. It’s up to you to take charge and tell the model how to...

On your iPhone, Seene’s images move as you tilt your device, revealing a 3D effect. On web browsers that support WebGL – like Chrome, Firefox, and Safari – the same effect can be seen when you move your cursor over the image. We published a hands-on with Seene in October last year. The makers of the app, Obvious Engineering, are now showing off a...
